DEL-MAR DIVE CLUB 312
Welcome to Del-Mar Dive Club, a BSAC branch that was formed in 1968. The last 15 years has seen Del-Mar operating on a Tuesday night from Wigston Pool, where members meet for training and to catch up on club trips and social activities and of course a little apres diving in the local pub. There is a Club notice board situated near the mens'changing rooms that provides up to date information as to who to contact, plus general information on the Club.
The evening starts at approximately 8.00 with a brief meeting, pool training is from 8.30 to 9.30. There are currently 35 members in Del-Mar, ranging from 13 to their mid 60s the average age being mid thirties. Levels of diving qualification vary from trainee ocean divers to advanced divers. At the moment Del-Mar has 3 open water instructors who are helped by 3 assistant club instructors.
Dive trips cater for all levels of experience. Recent trips have seen us in Cornwall, the Red Sea, Plymouth, The Farne Islands, West of Scotland and of course, good old Stoney Cove where the majority of the open water training is carried out.
Belonging to a branch, as well as providing a good level of training set at an individual's pace, also provides lots of dive buddies.
